Boards & Committees

All meetings are open to the public and governed by the Kansas Open Meetings Act. WAMPO fully complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. 

Transportation Policy Body (TPB)

Develops and implements WAMPO's transportation plans and makes the final approval of these documents and any amendments.

Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 3:00 PM

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)

Reviews technical information about transportation studies and issues, provides the TPB with professional recommendations on documents, plans, and activities.

Meets the 4th Monday of every month at 10:00 AM

Executive Committee (EC)

Provides strategic direction to staff on administrative service provision and other organizational and administrative matters.

Meets quarterly on the 1st Thursday of the month at 11:00 AM

Active Transportation Committee (ATC)

Reviews and comments on regional technical reports related to pedestrian/bicycle/trail infrastructure.

Meets quarterly on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 9:30 AM

ICT Safe: A Regional Transportation Coalition (ICT Safe)*

ICT Safe aims to reduce transportation-related fatalities and serious injuries in the WAMPO region by implementing the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP).

Meets quarterly on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 9:30 AM

United Community Transit Coalition (UCTC)

Works to increase collaboration between the public transit systems in various jurisdictions within the Tri-County area.

Meets quarterly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:00 PM

Economic Development & Transportation Committee (EDTC)

Informs the creation of the Economic Development Report and serves as a group of regional leaders and partners with whom WAMPO can discuss economic and transportation concerns.

Meets as needed during the development of the Economic Development Report

Freight Committee (FC)

Reviews and comments on regional technical reports related to freight infrastructure.

Committee Meetings FAQs

I’m attending a meeting in person. Where is it held?

In-person meetings are held in the Ronald Reagan Building, 271 W 3rd St., Rm. 203, Wichita, KS 67202. Take the elevators to the second floor and then make a left. After turning left, WAMPO's offices (Ste. 208) will be in front of you and the meeting room (Rm. 203) will be to your right.

WAMPO's Active Transportation Committee (ATC) and ICT Safe: A Regional Transportation Coalition are typically only held virtually via Zoom.

​

Would parking be available?

Yes, free parking is available east of the Ronald Reagan Building, shown as the blue lot on the map. Additional parking is available across the street to the north, shown as the green lot on the map. Parking in the green lot is free only with parking validation. To receive parking validation in the green lot please see a WAMPO staff member at the conclusion of the committee meeting.

Will a copy of the meeting agenda be provided at the meeting?

At committee meetings, WAMPO staff may provide condensed agendas with QR codes to access the full agenda packet with all staff reports and attachments. A limited number of printed copies of the full agenda packet will be available at each committee. Please see a WAMPO staff member to request a hard copy of the full agenda packet. Full agenda packets (when applicable) are available on our website at www.wampo.org/boards-and-committees on the particular committee/body's page. Agendas are posted on our website generally one week before a meeting.

I would like to attend a meeting but need special accommodations, can WAMPO help?

WAMPO staff will work to provide/support your special accommodations, within reason. Please contact WAMPO staff at least 24 hours prior to the committee meeting for your special accommodation needs. Requests for special accommodation and/or language assistance should be made to wampo@wampo.org or by calling 316.779.1313.

I can’t attend meetings in person, are there any online options?

Yes, all WAMPO meetings have the option to join virtually via Zoom, WAMPO staff will provide online meeting links for the Transportation Policy Board (TPB), Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), Executive Committee (EC), ICT Safe: A Regional Transportation Coalition (formerly the Safety & Health Committee)Active Transportation Committee (ATC) and United Community Transit Coalition (UCTC) meetings. Online meeting links can be accessed by selecting the applicable committee on our Boards & Committee landing page at www.wampo.org/boards-and-committees. Meetings can also be joined over the phone but prior registration is required.

TPB and TAC meetings are recorded and made available on WAMPO’s website and YouTube channel within 48 hours from the conclusion of the meeting.
