Planning for All Ages and Abilities Through Inclusive and Virtual Walk Audits

Planning and street design processes benefit from incorporating the expertise of people with disabilities; when a street is accessible for people with disabilities, it is accessible for all people. The Inclusive Walk Audit Facilitator's Guide, developed by the Minnesota Department of Health and Alta Planning + Design, provides specific guidance and information on how to better include people with disabilities. Linework, Models, Counters... OH MY: A Utah Story of Multi-Agency Collaboration to Develop Active Transportation Data and Tools

This session will highlight four Utah AT information resource initiatives: development and stewardship of a robust, integrated AT GIS database; the region's first bicycle travel demand model that estimates trip distribution and bike volumes based on human and infrastructure characteristics; a statewide effort to develop expansion factors for the now freely available Strava Metro app-based data; and the creation of a statewide repository to house AT counter data.  For more information contact Kathryn Chambers.

This webinar will consist of three parts: 1.Best practices and lessons learned for implementing bike and ped facilities in rural cities, and the challenges faced when working with small communities  2.Example of successful implementation through strong partner relationships and proper planning in the City of Le Sueur, a city of 4,000 people located between Mankato and the Twin Cities  3.The MnDOT efforts to prioritize planning and investment in pedestrian and bicyclist infrastructure within an equity and environmental justice context has led to its development of the SPACE tool.  For more information contact Kathryn Chambers.
