Regional Airports

The WAMPO region has 33 airports that offer commercial passenger service, freight, military operations, and/or general aviation service. Of these airports, 24 are private general aviation facilities, eight are public civilian airfields, and one is a military airfield (McConnell Air Force Base (IAB)).

In terms of scale of operations, there are two airports in the region that are considered significant: Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) and the Colonel James Jabara Airport (AAO). Both are operated by the Wichita Airport Authority (a department within the City of Wichita and not a separate airport authority). These two airports provide regional, national, and international transportation services
