Now in her eighth year as City Manager of Derby, Kathy has overseen many significant projects in her tenure, including a new Public Works facility, the addition of several miles of bike path to the city's current 25-mile system, and expansion of arterial streets Rock Road, Meadowlark Boulevard, Madison Avenue, and Buckner Street. She credits proactive communications and strong partnerships with both public and private sector organizations as keys to Derby's success.
Kathy earned her master's degree in public administration in 1992 and a bachelor's degree in English in 1989 from Wichita State University. She is an active member of the Kansas Association of City/County Management and a Credentialed manager with the International City/County Management Association. In 2008, the Wichita State University Hugo Wall of Urban and Public Affairs recognized her with the Alumni Award for outstanding public service.
A lifelong Kansan, Kathy grew up on a farm in southeast Kansas near Walnut and attended Girard High School. She and her husband Eric live in Derby.
